Why a Website at all?

 
The Delotts are not just a name but a way of life. This web site is dedicated to the Delott people and people related to them or at the very least know them. If this site were to have a smell it would be almost impossible to wash off.

The Delott name goes back only a few hundred years. It is actually quite a rare name. Why you ask or even if you didn't care to know I'm going to tell you anyway. It goes back to the actual russian spelling of the name (долото) DLOT which means chisel. While that may not seem to be that special, the chisel is the tool of a manual trade and back in the day the Jewish people could not do manual trades. So why name themselves after a tool of the trades. Who knows? The Delotts are a funny lot.
